There are 3 types of ribbon I use:
1st, true vintage ribbon-true vintage ribbon is hard to find and is in limited quantities. I'm always on the lookout for true vintage ribbon.
2nd Vintage quality- ribbon made today but made exactly like vintage ribbon. There is only one place in this world that still makes ribbon like they used to. Same content, same way it was spun, and same material used.
3rd, modern hat quality ribbon. This ribbon is a blend of Rayon and Cotton.
Howard Hughes H-4 Hercules “Spruce Goose” Fedora
Filmmaker, Businessman, Aviator. Howard Hughes wore many hats throughout his life. But the hat he wore the best was this beautiful whiskey colored fedora, which was on his head the very day he flew his famous H-4 Hercules, more popularly known as “The Spruce Goose.”
The Evergreen Museum in McMinnville, Oregon, which now houses the H-4 Hercules, recently commissioned me to recreate this beautiful hat, now on permanent display inside of the aircraft for all the public to see.
For a limited time, I am now offering an exact replica of the whiskey colored fedora on display in the “Spruce Goose.” The reason for this exclusive run is simply for the fact that I am in limited supply of the vintage ribbon that is featured on this very special hat. Thus, I also offer a Standard Edition, which will feature a vintage ribbon that is very similar, and which can also be made in any of my standard colors.
Limited Edition Howard Hughes H-4 Hercules Fedora in Beaver: $650

Leverage/Kane - I had the pleasure to make a hat for the hit TNT show Leverage (worn by Christian Kane). From season 4 episode 8 called "Boiler Room." With its moderate crown and large brim you are ready to go even if it takes you to the jungles of Ecuador.

The Casablanca - You fell in love with the movie just like I fell in love with the hat. No one looked better in a fedora than Bogart. He simply put the hat on his head and cocked to the side.

the Marlo features a classic “C-crown” style crease, and sports a moderate to large brim and crown, perfectly capturing that cinematic Film Noir look. I decided to name this hat after my father-in-law, who was a huge fan of these films, especially those starring screen legend Humphrey Bogart. This is a great looking hat—with or without your trench-coat and cigarettes.

For a more modern feel, the Eddie is a sharp-looking alternative to the larger brimmed fedoras of the classic period. Featuring a smaller crown and very contemporary “stingy” brim, this hat will keep you looking hip, all the while setting you apart for its high quality and hand-crafted finish. I’m confident that my step-father would have agreed, whose name I give to this beautiful hat, and whose grandson wears the first one I ever made.

the Eno features a moderate-sized crown with a slightly smaller brim, which makes it an excellent complement to a snazzy suit, perfect for an evening of jazz or blues at a swinging downtown nightclub. I named this hat after a dear friend of mine. I feel that this is a style that would have suited him quite well.

The "SPIRIT of Barney" - My friend Barney was the closest thing I would ever know to a father in my life. Barney was a big fan of the Spirit comic by Will Eisner and often wore many different style hats. I crafted this movie version Spirit-like style in his memory.

The Spirit - Since The Spirit by Will Eisner one of my all time favorite comic books, I just had to make this hat in it's original royal blue color. It's finished off with a vintage navy ribbon.

The Watchmen - As one of my all time favorite graphic novels, and now one of my favorite movies, it was not hard deciding to replicate this hat based off of the character Rorschach's hat as seen in the movie. This hat features the same felt and ribbon as seen in the screen used version.

The Electric Speakeasy - I designed this once a year offering as an affordable Golden Era style fedora available to members in good standing at the Fedora Chronicles Electric Speakeasy. It was designed specifically to be reminiscent of the Speakeasy's colors and logo.

Satin finish (long hair) is made different from the felter and then is pounced different by me to give that satin, long hair finish.
